Our Analysis
• Many Bible
Verses in "modern" versions are different from the King James Version of
the Bible.
• These "modern versions" are supposed to be "easier" to read, but are
they accurate?
• Have these modern versions changed God's words completely?
• If they are different, who is right? Does it really matter?
Why do we need an ACCURATE version of the Bible?
1) God’s word is His will for your life.
Jesus said in Matthew 7:21, "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall
enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will
of my Father which is in heaven."
Jesus prayed in Matthew 6:10, " Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven ."
• If we do not have an accurate Bible, how
will we even know God's will? Or pray God's will?
• If they change the original meanings of the
Bible, they are trying to change God's will.
• We cannot change the message of the truth. We
must allow the message of the truth to change us.
2) God's voice always lines up
with His words in the Bible.
Your thoughts and decisions are a BIG factor in how your life turns out.
We need to be led by God and the Holy Spirit. But, when you get a
thought, how do you know if it's from God or the devil? One way for
sure to know is to know God's word first. God will never give you a
thought that is against His word. That is one reason why you need an
accurate word. The Bible is the standard for our conduct.
Without this, we would have no standards. Anything would go.
Jesus said, "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me...And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any
man pluck them out of my hand
(John
10:27-28)."
The arguments against KJV
1)
Manuscripts
The people against KJV say their version is more
accurate because it comes from older manuscripts. The problem is
they haven't taken into account that we had no printing press.
People had to write, and re-write the bible when it wore out. The
VERY SERIOUS bible readers wore their bibles out. When they rewrote
them, they didn't save the old ones.
The non-KJV bibles may
appear to be "older", but in reality they are rewritten from something
much newer. And, from a manuscript that was used by people not
serious about the Bible. They took things out of the Bible to fit
their agendas. That is why all the newer version have so many things
missing from the original (check the links above). Deep
spiritual truths are taken away with these words.
Even if the non-KJV
people think they have "older" manuscripts, they might not. There
are massive carbon dating errors. The non-KJV people are
using carbon dating to say their manuscript is "older". These same
carbon dating methods also conclude the world is millions of years old.
According to the bible (tracing Adam and Eve's family tree), the world is
about 6000 years old (as of the year 2000). Carbon dating also has
major problems because of the change in the atmosphere and the amount of
oxygen in the air before the flood (or a little while after). The
oxygen in the air was heavier before the flood, and that is one of the
main reasons why I believe people lived to be over 900 years old.
The text preserved by the
KJV is taken from manuscripts that were used by the most serious and
accurate Bible scholars in history. They ALWAYS rejected the other
scripts, because they knew they were inaccurate and missing things.
Why do you suppose people
keep rewriting the Bible today? They are making it more "watered
down" then ever before in history. They are completely changing the
meanings of many verses, and throwing others out. This is sad to
see, when the Bible is supposed to be our rock-solid standard we live by.
The Bible is given to us by God Himself. Humans are not supposed to
change it to fit their own agendas. We need to conform to God, not
try to conform His word to what we want to do.
2)
Too hard to read?
The people against KJV say that there are too
many hard words, the words have changed in the English language, etc.
But, I have to ask them - does it matter how simple something is to read
if what you are reading is WRONG? How can they know God's will if
they don't even know His accurate word? The KJV can be learned. Once
you read it a while, you will be surprised how easy it becomes. It
has a poetic beauty and wisdom that the modern versions just cannot seem
to duplicate.
Sadly, MOST people who
make the excuse that the KJV is too hard, rarely ever read the bible
anyway. Most have never read through the entire bible.
We pray you are
different. Be blessed in your life more than ever before by reading
the Bible regularly! His truth will set you free!
